Day 1
Subject: Thanks for signing up [firstname]

Dear [firstname],

Thanks for signing up to this short e-course on getting your sales funnel up and running. Over the coming days I'm going to be sending you a LOT of information, so be sure to check your inbox every day, and to mark my messages as important. You might also want to set some time aside each day to implement what I'm going to tell you in the e-mails, so you can get it done while things are still fresh in your mind.

Why do you need a sales funnel anyway?

The whole point of a sales funnel is to build trust. While it's true you might go into a bricks and mortar store for the first time and purchase high-ticket item, people are reluctant to do so online.

Why?

Well, to begin with, you know where a bricks and mortar store is. You can go there, talk to the sales person, get a feel as to what the place is like and whether the people who run it can be trusted. You can also (by and large) see what you're buying before you part with your hard-earned cash. If you don't like what you see, you can always leave.

Online that's not so easy.

A website could be based anywhere. You have to pay first and get your goods later. If the download doesn't download, or the physical product never turns up, you might have a lot of hassle to get your money back.

Long story short: There's a distinct lack of trust online. Even if your potential customer hasn't had his/her fingers burned personally, they probably know someone who has.

That's where a sales funnel comes in.

I'll explain more over the coming days; in the meantime, if you'd like to get a head start on all this, I've put together a fact-filled guide to building a sales funnel. Download your copy today from [link to sales page].

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

PS. Tomorrow I'll explain the most important element of your sales funnel. Be sure to check your inbox then.
